Oh, it's a coho. It's gotta be a coho. Look at that jump. Look at that jump. Look at that jump

Hey, hey, hey. Welcome back to the channel. It is Jesse on this beautiful fishing day
0:23
fishing father's day special. Going out at last light, not first light, but last light
0:32
Beautiful. Oh my gosh. We got ourselves a day. Good evening boys and girls. This is
0:40
tonight, we're, I got a couple ideas, depending on how it goes, but I want to start with a
0:45
little bit of ground fish and then I'm going to troll just down the front. Here we go
0:51
Figured I might as well start recording on my way out to the spot and just troll, bottom
0:58
troll here. Oh, there's a bunch of bait at like a hundred feet. There's gotta be fish
1:07
down there. Holy cow. I wonder if I can get a little lower. Jeez. I changed my downrigger
1:19
line from the cable to the, to the, uh, braid and there's no hum. It's so much silent, so
1:27
much quieter. So nice. Really prefer that. I can go a lot deeper too. So right now we
1:36
can keep two hatchery cohos. So if we get lucky enough to get one of those, I'll definitely
1:40
keep walking it. Fish on. Yup, we got a fish on. Yup, there's a fish on. What do we got
1:58
Feels small. 50 feet of water. Probably a Chinook shaker. Ah, come on baby. That's a
2:18
Chinook. Oh, there he is. Took me at the surface. Ah, it was a little Chinook, I think. It could
2:26
have been a coho. I mean, it was a salmon. It was a salmon. Ah, shoot. Well, there you
2:33
go, ladies and gentlemen, we haven't even got to the fishing spot. We're already into
2:38
the salmon. I wonder if the coho are coming in on this side on, on the incoming tide
2:45
Actually, it makes sense because they would come on the inside of it. If the tides coming
2:49
in, the tides coming in, there's a shelf here. There's less current. So the bait would be
2:54
on the outside of the shelf. Actually, that makes a lot of sense. So this could actually be a good spot. This actually could be a good spot. There is a ton of bait. I wish I could
3:02
show you my, my screen right now. It is insane right now. Holy cow, down below there. Fish
3:10
are here, that's for sure. I'm certain of it. The only thing I'm not certain is if my
3:17
line is covered in algae. If I was on a boat, I would reel this up right away, but it's
3:21
kind of a bit of work to get the whole thing down. So you kind of, kind of slack a little
3:27
bit, I'll be honest with you. Yeah, I think I'm towing some. Ah, shoot. I was in a good spot, but like, sometimes that happens, eh? To get that seaweed
3:42
down, I was like, shoot, I can feel it too. I thought at the end there for sure. Man
3:46
there's a lot of seaweed here. There's also a lot of fish. I don't know what's going on
3:54
My Garmin is not giving me proper readings. It's giving me weird readings. Like, the battery
4:01
shouldn't be, like, I just charged the battery, so it shouldn't, sometimes if the battery is low, it'll give you some weird readings, I know. But this is not right. I'm in like
4:11
deep water. And it's showing me just the weirdest readings right now. So I'm fishing blind
4:18
I guess. Oop. Oop
4:38
Oop, right now, that's a fish. That's a fish. This is a training. That's a fish. That's
4:45
a salmon. That's a fish. We got a fish. Come on, baby. Let's see you. Come on, baby. Come
4:59
on, baby. Just as I was training. And I'm fishing blind too. Come on, vehicle. Vehicle
5:16
Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby
5:27
Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby
5:35
Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby. Come on, baby
5:41
Okay. Okay. Okay. Oh, geez. Oh, I think this is enough. I don't think I can keep this one
5:53
Geez. Oh, boy. Oh, this is hard. This is a hard one. Okay, here we go. Here we go. Here
6:06
we go. Oh, my gosh. The struggle is real, people. That was a stir. All right. What do
6:17
we got? I think it's a chinook. I think I saw a black one. Oh, my gosh. All right. Last
6:25
light fish. Awesome, Tim. Okay. What do we got here? Well, first things first. Hook
6:40
is out. That's good. It's a hatchery, whatever it is. It's too bad. It's a beautiful chinook
6:48
I'm going to turn to get a better light here so we get a nice shot, nice photo. We're just
6:53
trolling beside him. He's in the water. He's cool. So you can't keep these. These are
6:58
if it was white or a coho, rather, that would be a fish we could bonk. That's a nice looking
7:07
fish. All right. Let's get him back in here. There he goes. No problem. Kicks off like
7:17
a son of a gun. Well, that was cool. That was really cool. So that's a chinook. See
7:32
we can catch salmon on the troll. We hooked one, finally. Brought it to the boat. We're
7:40
heading home. We'll troll all the way back. We achieved our goal. Our goal was to troll
7:50
a salmon. And salmon troll we did. So I'm happy about that. That's wicked. Really cool
7:58
That's great. The Islander reel brought one in. Honestly, honestly, open. Open to recommendations
8:09
If you have, if you have like trolling kayak gear that you think is like dialed in, let
8:15
me know. I mean, this picks up a lot of line, but you know, you need something that's got
8:22
to pick up that line quick. That seems like the best thing. Forget the, forget the line
8:28
setting and all that nonsense. You just need something that's going to pick up the line quick because you have that bow in your line. First of all, your, your, your line connector
8:42
And then you got, yeah. Any drag on your line. Like you've got a lot of line to pick up before
8:48
that fish can throw that. And I think I've showcased that tonight already. Oh, or I'm
8:55
just really sucking at this, but I would like to argue that if it is a hatchery fish, I
9:02
think we should be able to bonk that. That Chinook, I think at this time of year, it's
9:07
father's day today. The hatchery fish would have been a great table fare. Oh well
9:15
Yep, we're on. Yep, we're on
9:26
What is this thing? What is this thing? Not fighting very hard. It's coming with the boat
9:48
Oh, it's a salmon. Let's see. Oh, it's rolling like a coho. It's rolling like a coho. It
10:07
could be. It could be. It could be. It could be. All right. Oh boy. Oh boy. Oh boy. We're
10:19
rolling. Can you see this? Okay. It's a salmon. That's for sure. Okay. Let's see if I can
10:34
get him around here. Don't go in that. Oh geez. Oh geez. I want to go in the downrigger
10:46
ball. That's like the worst spot. Oh geez. Oh no. Now I'm going to court it. Oh, this
10:53
is just. Okay. We upgraded. We upgraded. Here goes the hook. Okay. We upgraded boys. What
11:05
did we upgrade to? What is this fish? Is it? It's a hatchery. Is it another Chinook? It
11:15
is another Chinook. It's another hatchery. Oh man. We were catching nonstop hatchery
11:22
Chinook right now. Look at these fish. These are gorgeous fish. Okay. For a second there
11:26
I got excited. I thought it was a coho. It's just, just for a second. Okay. I'm going to
11:31
take them out just for a second too and show the camera. All right. Show the happy, happy
11:37
people. All right. Last light bite, hey? I love the glow. See, I got the glow hoochie
11:43
on right now. This thing has been deadly for me at last. Last, like is the sun setting
11:48
Deadly. I'll just do a quick measurement of him. I just want to see how long he is. Just for fun. He's 20. He's about 26, 25 inches. All right. Here he is. Look at that guy. Oh
12:09
yeah. See the hatchery? Ha ha. Happy, happy. Oh geez. I didn't want to drop him on the
12:17
net. All right. Well, that was fun. I mean, that was a crazy situation. I had the net
12:25
the net got hooked on your camera, on my camera. I thought, Oh geez, here we go. I'm trying
12:29
to get the net on the fish and I'm so many things can go wrong with the kayak. Let me
12:34
tell you. I literally, my Garmin is still not working, so I have no idea. So I'm just
12:39
counting the things. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Grandfathers, great
12:47
grandfathers. I know sometimes Father's Day actually can be a hard day for some people
12:53
And so shout out to those guys too. Whoever, for the hard ones, shout out to you too
13:00
Yeah. Well
13:18
Oh, back on again. Okay. Oh, this is heavy. Maybe not. Maybe not. Maybe not. Just turn my boat around
13:38
Be a little hatch. Hatch coho. That'd be awesome. Come on. Come on. Be a hatch coho. Be a hatch coho
13:47
Oh, it's a coho. It's gotta be a coho. Look at that jump. Look at that jump. Look at that jump
13:53
Oh, it's a coho. It's gotta be a coho. Look at that jump. Look at that jump. It's gotta be a coho. Come on
14:05
Come on. What other fish does that? That's not a chinook. That's gotta be a coho. Come on
14:12
I'm gonna play him out. I'm gonna play him out. Okay. Come on. Come on, baby. Come on
14:31
Are you ready? In the boat. All right. What are you? Oh, geez. It's all very dramatic. Oh, the adrenaline. Gotta love it
14:49
Pretty much these things pop off in the net every time. Okay, let me just get this out of the way
14:56
Out of the way. Okay. He's definitely a hatchery again. Is he a coho? I can't see his mouth
15:06
Another chinook. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. We'll let you go. All right. Just a quick shot for the people here
15:17
Just for the people. You're world famous. So that's three hatchery chinook. Holy cow
15:24
I'm in the chinook hatchery right here. All right. These are all beautiful fish. My gosh, they're gorgeous
15:33
Oh, no, this one's wild. Sorry. This one is a wild one. It looks like a misclipped. There you go
15:41
Misclipped, but there he is. All right, we're gonna let him go
15:46
Torpedo. See ya. As much fun as I'm having right now, I actually have to get home
15:54
Okay, well, the cool thing is, the last light bite is fire right now. Fire last light bite
16:03
I got fish slime all over my pants. It's great. Well, that's a great evening of fishes. The bite's on right now, but obviously it's getting too dark
16:16
The shore is not far, which is really nice, I gotta say. What a blessing this has been
16:21
