It is the start of a new fishing season. It's 2024. It's late April

The season for me kind of kicks off May 1st. And that's because lingcod, rockfish, those type of things open up in my local waters

And so today, I'm just going to be doing some catch and release

But today's about testing some things. I have to test. I got some new features on the kayak

Oh my gosh, I can't wait to show you guys. So over the winter, I got a brand new downrigger

This guy here, the new Canon. This is an American downrigger. And I wanted something that could basically support a heavier ball

Right now, I was running about a 4 or 5 pound ball with my Scotty Lake Troller

This thing can do like 8 to 10 pounds. And this is the EZ Troll

And I've got underneath here, I'll show maybe a better video how it's mounted

It's a V-Lock system. And so it's mounted into the back here on this aluminum plate here

That's really just solidified onto my kayak. And the angle, and I've been playing around with this, the angle here and working it and

the accessibility is perfect. I was worried about that, like, you know, I'm about 5'8", 5'9"

So for maybe bigger guys, if your feet, if you're further back, you could be a little

bit more enclosed, it might be a little bit tougher. I don't think it's too bad, but this angle where it's kind of shooting out like this

is perfect. And I like it because the handles on the inside, because the counter, there's a counter and

it tells me the depth, which is also really cool, they know the pro, is on this side

If it was on the other side, like if I had this mounted on this side, and I had to reach

around, I couldn't see the counter and that would kind of suck. So it's kind of nice to have it on this side

Plus that's the side I'm used to, I was using before. And so that's one of the new features

I've also got a new handle in the back that can put on some kayak, some like little track

mounts, small little thing, I can talk about that later. I'm going to put a flag bat there

Think about that, that's cool. Because a lot of times, you know, when I'm aiming the camera, I'm trying to get the camera

and the fish is fighting or he's jumping over this way, and you'll miss some cool stuff

But yeah, this is just a cool way to capture more of the action and share with you guys

So hopefully it works out well. So I've got a couple more cameras. I've got a little, down here, I guess you can't see it because of the 360 camera

This thing here is actually, it puts your, so when you're dealing with a fish or something

it's just kind of a neat way to just kind of like, see, angle, just hold your rod holder

there, or just lean your rod there. And there's also a mount here, so I can do a little track mount there

So if I want to put another camera here, or even put the Garmin, I could put a fish finder
